The Diablo View Orchid Society meets the second Thursday of each month in the offices of the Contra Costa Water District, 1331 Concord Avenue, Concord at 7:30 pm. We welcome new members and guests! Email us at webmaster@diabloviewos.org for information on how to join us. Click here for a map (~72K .jpg).
At each meeting we hold an orchid "show and tell", all people bringing orchids are entered into a raffle draw for the plant table for that month. In addition, awards are presented in various categories, with the overall winner at the end of the year receiving a trophy! Our awards are judged to a strict standard as outlined in the "Handout for Orchid Judging". This months winners are shown on the home page and will be entered into the Orchid Gallery.
In addition to our talks, slide shows and culture sessions, there are other benefits to coming to our meetings. We typically have plants for sale as shown in the upper left picture, a raffle table, typically provided by the speaker, this month it was a table of Disas. And finally I think we probably have the best food of all the societies in the area!
